Day 0: Optional Accommodation in Arusha (Pre-safari)

Before embarking on your 4-day adventure, you will have the option to arrive in Arusha, the safari capital of Tanzania, a day earlier. This optional day allows you to relax, get acclimatized, and prepare for the adventure ahead. Arusha offers a blend of cultural experiences, and it is also a great opportunity to gather some last-minute supplies for the safari.

You can opt for an overnight stay at a comfortable lodge or hotel in Arusha, which will give you the chance to meet your guide, get your gear organized, and learn more about the itinerary and what to expect on the safari.

Day 1: Tarangire National Park Safari

On the first day of your 4-day Tanzania Camping Safari, you’ll begin your journey by traveling from Arusha to Tarangire National Park, a stunning and lesser-known gem compared to the Serengeti or Ngorongoro. This park is particularly famous for its large herds of elephants and its striking baobab trees, which stand tall against the sky like ancient sentinels of the African wilderness.

  • Morning: After a hearty breakfast at your accommodation, you will be picked up by your safari guide and head towards Tarangire National Park. The drive from Arusha to Tarangire will take approximately 2-3 hours, providing you with stunning views of the Tanzanian landscape along the way. As you approach the park, you will start seeing the first signs of wildlife, from the herds of zebra to the occasional giraffe.

  • Afternoon Game Drive: Upon arrival at Tarangire, you will go on your first exciting afternoon game drive. Day 2: Serengeti National Park Safari

On the second day of your safari, you will leave Tarangire and head to the world-famous Serengeti National Park. The Serengeti is one of the most iconic wildlife destinations in the world, renowned for its vast plains, abundant wildlife, and the Great Migration. While the migration happens throughout the year, Serengeti always offers abundant wildlife sightings, making it a year-round destination for safari lovers.

  • Morning Transit and Game Drive: After breakfast, you will leave Tarangire early in the morning and make your way towards the Serengeti. The drive will take approximately 4-5 hours, passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area on the way. Once you arrive in the Serengeti, you’ll head straight to the park for an exciting late-afternoon game drive. During this game drive, you’ll have the chance to spot a variety of animals, including lions, cheetahs, giraffes, and elephants.

  • Wildlife in Serengeti: The Serengeti is home to a wide range of species, and it’s the perfect place to witness the Big Five (lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhino). Day 3: Serengeti Half-Day Game Drive and Transit to Ngorongoro

On Day 3, you’ll spend the morning exploring more of the Serengeti before heading to the famous Ngorongoro Crater in the afternoon.

  • Morning Game Drive in Serengeti: After breakfast, you’ll embark on a morning game drive in the Serengeti, where your expert guide will take you to the best wildlife viewing spots. The Serengeti offers a wide variety of habitats, from the plains to the rivers, making it an excellent place for spotting wildlife, including zebras, giraffes, hyenas, and crocodiles.

  • Transit to Ngorongoro: After your morning game drive, you will have lunch at your campsite and then begin your journey to Ngorongoro Crater. The drive from Serengeti to Ngorongoro will take approximately 2-3 hours, passing through the picturesque landscapes of the Ngorongoro Highlands. Once you arrive at Ngorongoro, you’ll check in at your campsite, where you’ll prepare for the following day's adventure.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive and Return to Arusha

On your final day, you will visit the Ngorongoro Crater, one of the world’s most famous wildlife destinations.

Ngorongoro is often referred to as the "Garden of Eden" because of its incredible biodiversity.     • Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater game drive. Return to Arusha by evening for your flight or onward travel.

    For travelers based in Zanzibar, we offer a 3-day safari from Zanzibar that allows you to experience the best of Tanzania’s wildlife in a shorter time frame:   

  •   Day 1: Fly from Zanzibar to Arusha and then travel to Tarangire National Park for a game drive. Stay overnight in a lodge near the park.

  • Day 2: Full-day game drive in Serengeti. Stay in a lodge or tented camp.

  • Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater game drive in the morning and then return to Arusha for your flight back to Zanzibar.Accommodation: Stay in mid-range lodges or tented camps, offering good comfort with private facilities.Transportation: We’ll arrange flights between Zanzibar and Arusha, followed by a comfortable safari vehicle for game drives.
