Zanzibar to Tarangire

The journey begins today as you’re picked up from your hotel in Zanzibar and transferred to the airport for a flight to Arusha. A scenic one-hour journey in a small plane brings you over beautiful landscapes, setting the tone for the adventures to come.

Upon landing at Arusha Airport, your guide will welcome you and drive you for about two hours to Tarangire National Park. Known for its impressive herds of elephants and iconic baobab trees, this park offers a unique experience. In a customized open-roof vehicle, you'll explore the rich ecosystems of seasonal swamps, open savanna, and the flowing Tarangire River. Keep an eye out for a wide range of wildlife, from giraffes and zebras to lions, leopards, and majestic elephants. As evening falls, you’ll retire to your lodge for dinner and a restful night.

Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive

After an early breakfast, you'll descend over 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater to explore its rich wildlife. This unique ecosystem, sustained by a year-round water supply, is home to diverse animals, including wildebeest, zebras, buffalo, elands, warthogs, hippos, and large African elephants.
The crater is also known for its impressive predator population, featuring lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and the elusive leopard, which can be challenging to spot. You'll visit Lake Magadi, a large shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern corner, where you can often see vibrant flamingos and various water birds.
In the late afternoon, you'll transfer to Arusha for dinner and an overnight stay, or you can choose a drop-off at the airport for your flight back to Zanzibar.
